THE INTERNATIONAL AIR TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION (IATA) LAUNCHES BILLING AND SETTLEMENT PLAN (BSP) IN SIERRA LEONE.

INTRODUCTION

The International Air Transport Association IATA launches its Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) in Sierra Leone, marking an important milestone for the Aviation Industry in the country.

With the BSP, airlines can now process transactions more efficiently and accurately, which will lead to cost savings and reduction in errors. Sierra Leone being the only country amongst the Mano River Union (MRU) joins more than 160 countries around the world that are use the BSP, making it a key player in the global aviation industry.

The launch of the BSP is a testament to Sierra Leone’s commitment to strengthening its aviation sector.

The BSP launched in Sierra Leone by IATA, in collaboration with the The Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA) and the Ministry of Transport and Aviation.

BENEFITS

The BSP will enable airlines to process transactions in local currency, simplifying the payment process and reducing costs.

It will also help the CAA to collect taxes and fees more efficiently, as well as to track and analyze data more easily.

In addition, the BSP will provide opportunities for airlines and travel agents to develop new products and services, contributing to the development of the Aviation Industry in Sierra Leone.
