SLCAA Inspires the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP)
In a groundbreaking initiative that embodies the concept of the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP), the Director General of the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA), Madam Musayeroh Barrie led a group of children on an exciting and educational visit to the airport.
The visit provided a unique and memorable experience for the young participants, marking an important step in nurturing future leaders within Sierra Leone’s aviation industry.
The initiative aimed to expose children to the dynamic world of aviation and inspire curiosity about the many career opportunities the sector offers.
During the visit, the children were taken through various operational processes at the airport, including check-in procedures, CCTV operations, firefighting demonstrations, and other critical aspects of airport management. These hands-on experiences allowed them to appreciate the teamwork, discipline, and coordination that define the aviation environment.
The Director General encouraged the children to explore, ask questions, and engage freely while strictly adhering to safety measures throughout the visit. Addressing parents, he emphasized the importance of broadening perspectives beyond traditional career paths such as law and medicine. He highlighted that the future holds vast possibilities, with aviation being a key driver of national growth and innovation.
“Our children are the foundation of the future we are building. Aviation is not just about flying planes; it is about technology, management, safety, engineering, and teamwork. Through initiatives like NGAP, we are opening doors for them to dream, learn, and lead in the aviation industry,” the Director General remarked.
