Two members of SLCAA staff have successfully completed “The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT)” program at Ethiopian Aviation University (EAU), known for providing a thorough training in aircraft maintenance. This training encompasses essential technical knowledge, hands-on skills, and an understanding of regulatory frameworks necessary to ensure aircraft safety, reliability, and airworthiness in accordance with international standards.
Their completion of this program will significantly benefit the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA) in enhancing its ability to maintain effective regulatory compliance and safety oversight while ensuring adherence to international standards. This will improve the overall reputation of the SLCAA and the overall Sierra Leone aviation industry as the trained and certified technician, will play a crucial role in promoting high-quality aircraft maintenance practices and consequently minimizing maintenance-related incidents whiles ensuring both the operational integrity of aircraft and the advancement of the broader aviation landscape.
For the State, these engineers are instrumental in developing national technical capacity and ensuring the safety and reliability of aviation operations which will improve air transport services, foster economic growth and bolsters global confidence in the national aviation system.
