The Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA), through its Aerodrome Safety Operations Division, successfully conducted a one-day workshop on the Development and Management of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) on 11th February 2026 at the SLCAA Training Hall in Lungi.

The workshop was organized in response to identified gaps from routine surveillance, audits, inspections, and occurrence investigations, particularly in the areas of CAP development, implementation, monitoring, and timely closure. The session provided participants with practical guidance on best practices for preparing effective and sustainable CAPs, as well as clarification on SLCAA’s expectations and processes for monitoring and formally closing corrective actions.
The workshop brought together management, operational, and technical personnel from key regulated aviation service providers, including FIA Limited, Conex SL Limited, and Sky Handling Partners (SHP) Limited. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, case studies, and exercises designed to enhance their understanding of CAP development and oversight.

This initiative demonstrates SLCAA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening regulatory compliance and promoting continuous safety improvement through capacity-building initiatives and effective safety oversight mechanisms. By equipping aviation stakeholders with the knowledge and tools to manage corrective actions efficiently, SLCAA continues to ensure the highest standards of safety and operational excellence in Sierra Leone’s civil aviation sector.
SLCAA remains dedicated to fostering a safe, compliant, and resilient aviation industry for all stakeholders.
